We just launched a new cluster of fronts with a modified Tor process and custom onionbalance that should help with Tor's reach-ability without killing the network too much. We will see if this works better under the load. It does make it harder to take us down overall but I don't know if it will be enough.
Try to visit the main Dread Tor URL and see how long it takes to first connect and then to die (which will happen as weak nodes in the chain meet their maker). Time it out and comment down below with your results. It will change as the days go on (hopefully in a positive way).
Of course the most stable path to Dread is on the i2p network where such attack vectors are simply not there to exploit.
