Any recommondations for a newbie?

Greetings ,

Today I just installed kali linux and from today I want to start learning about hacking. I checked book list that one of the Moderator has published.And I want to start from beginning but I don't know where to start.So I'm looking for help here.Can you guys recommend me some books to read or any advises.

Be prepared that it's a long journey, you may wish to learn some programming on the side, to get a bit of understanding. Learn about different technologies, how they work. Watch some videos. You may also wish to look at some CTF challenges.

It also depends what exactly is it you want to hack. Maybe you wish to hack people? Maybe you wish to reverse engineer software? Maybe you wish to hack/clone RFID chips? Spy for packets on public wifi?

Generally it's knowledge on top of knowledge. Just make sure you have fun. It's also mostly patience and lots of stuff may be very boring, trial and error, but the reward if you solve the problem or get through is often nice feeling.
