I've tried doing it like I always have done it and it isn't working for some reason. I paste the vendor's public key into the kleopatra notepad then hit import, name the file and use .asc extension and then when I save it, it says 0/0 keys imported. then I make the file manually by opening up text editor and pasting the key and saving it the same way, as a .asc file into the persistent directory and when I either just double click it or manually import it, I get the same 0/0 imported result. what the heck am I doing wrong??? I have always done it this way and it always worked flawlessly

You should ask /u/med3lin, he once had a rant about how shitty kleopatra is, he seems chill to me, I just hope he never sends his ID to europol!

Check out the guide linked at the top of /d/pgppractice, mate. Will walk you through using Kleo with Clipboard instead of Notepad. Much simpler way, imo.

shit, the guide isnt fixing the issue either! I had previously aleady set up persistance and at that time I did make sure to enable gnupg and I already generated a key and it worked just fine for signing; i had 2fa enabled on some markets and the signing was fine, so im guessing there was no issues with my key. i deleted it anyway so I could follow the guide and now when I try to maKe a cey I get "could not create key pair: invalid argument".... I tried the whole clipboard method before deleting my key too and it didnt work. still was getting 0/0 imported. why is this program all of a sudden fucking up on me now when I have used it many times before? its aggrivating

Had the same trouble yesterday trying to import a PGP from a user on Dread. I tried importing his key from another source (the same PGP on a market) and it worked... Are you taking it from dread too?
