I have something to say and admit

by /u/journalistincognitoz78 · 7 votes · 1 week ago

Guys,

I'm not here to buy drugs, hack, or do fraud, or anything else illegal. I really don't even need to be here. I just like browsing through some of these subdreddits. Although I've noticed something about the newcomers here that confuses me, and that is are you guys this stupid? Do you guys have not the slightest idea in regards to being secretive? I'm sorry, but half this stuff is common knowledge. You don't even need the dark web to tell you this! Guys a lot of you, and please don't get mad, shouldn't be thinking about selling drugs. Don't even think about! I'm not saying you should learn more then come back, and sell drugs, no just don't do it at all. Please find some other work (obviously legal) you guys really don't need to be here. Of course I'm here just to see how this "infamous" dark web works.

P.S: Please don't get mad or send me hate mail or anything I'm okay if you say something in anger in the comment section, but please don't waste your time on me I'm just another person on the internet. I'm not even worth your time.

You are not here with "something to say and admit".

You are people-watching.

And, you are judging how other people live by what they do.

Everyone has a journey in life, even you. You are mocking the journey of others.

You don't know what other people go through; their battles and their struggles and so you cannot take away the freedom of choice from others--that is grandiosity.

Here, at /d/OpSec, we engage in the discussion of what to do to stay secure and we take security seriously because our lives are important to us. Don't belittle others.

Our lives should not be entertainment for you. That would be a sad reflection of your perspective of others.

Be well and do no harm. No one here is less human than you to have taken away their freedom of being whomever they are destined to be.

I never meant it like that, I'm sorry if it came out that way. I was acting arrogantly I'm sorry to you, and to others I've offended.

We are all still growing up no matter our age.

You have to remember there are all types of people on the "dark web" and you never know who you are dealing with. You could have a 14 year old being stupid and asking dumb ass questions cause he/she thinks it is funny or you could be dealing with a Harvard professor that has a dark side. You are also dealing with people from all over the world a lot of the time and from different cultural or economic background with different education levels. However, not in a mean way, to make a statement like "Are you guys this stupid" is almost like slander. What did you observe that was stupid? Yes, I will agree some people ask some dumb ass questions but if they want to put all their business out there, when surrounded by people that may be involved in criminal activities or even law enforcement.....because when you register for dread I did not see anything that said no law enforcement allowed. That is 100% on them and if LE knocks on their door one day. If they did not read the darknet bible that on them too. Each person is responsible for their own anonymity, its up to each person to make sure they are secure and hidden. Anyway that is my rant... Let those people post their home addresses and phone numbers in the middle of the forum. Like I stated that is on them and its only them that will have to face the consequences for putting too much info out there. Enjoy browsing!

I see, maybe I shouldn't have been so arrogant. You're right, and I thank you for checking me in a polite manner.

/u/Richiierichh11 · 2 votes · 1 week ago · Link

Nah everyone is entitled to feel how they feel!! TBH some of the posts i read when I first came on the "dark" web made me shake my head too!! Now nothing really phases me. I just think it is interesting what you can find on some of these Markets an d so forth!! Crazy!!

/u/Richiierichh11 · 1 votes · 1 week ago · Link

Now that I think about it there are idots on the regular web haha... They always bust dumb asses on FB posing with money, drugs and guns!! Then LE goes and busts them and they wonder how they got caught. LE monitors everything!! Social media for sure, and I am positive that they monitor this as well!!

very well articulated. and one of the greatest quotes is he who asks is a fool for a day and he who doesn't is a fool for his life. It's a safe place to ask whatever u want, isn't that the point of dread? but I will say, journalistic I saw your response and thought that was legit of you to be humble and put everything in perspective. respect to that.

I was a bit disappointed as well. But have a look at /d/hacking … MUCH worse.

/u/journalistincognitoz78 OP · 1 votes · 1 week ago · Link

Tbh I wouldn't know much about hacking, but I'll take your word for it.

/u/martinatchet · 5 votes · 1 week ago · Link

oh then you'd fit right in on /d/hacking :D

/u/journalistincognitoz78 OP · 1 votes · 1 week ago · Link

Well one I never said I wanted to hack, but if you don't mind could you give me examples of what people have said if it's that bad?

/u/martinatchet · 1 votes · 1 week ago · Link

Oh yeah I was just kidding around, no idea what your interests are - though OpSec in my (computer addled) head is usually related to comp security which is why I mentioned it, but I guess the term can be used much more broadly.

Idk I usually try to be helpful towards newbies on /d/hacking but occasionally get annoyed and become sarcastic. Questions would be like "how do you hack a cloudflare site?" (this gives you like 0 useful information, cloudflare is used by like 80% of sites using a reverse proxy), "how does a ddos work?" etc. Some things are essentially google-able things like DDOS, some are just basic/ambiguous questions along the lines of "h0w2hack?". Also some users give very wrong answers to these questions though purporting to be experts. There is occasionally interesting discussion about malware or pass cracking or pen testing but it's rare.

/u/journalistincognitoz78 OP · 2 votes · 1 week ago · Link

Again I know nothing about hacking, but there's no way they couldn't just google what a simple term like ddos means. You see what I'm saying? It's almost as if there's these kids under 18 coming on here thinking they're going to be the next big thing when in reality they're too stupid for these complex systems of thought.

Oh yeah I agree with you. Though I will say, though Tor wasn't around when I was a teenager, if it was and I was maybe 12-13 I might have been one of the people posting dumb questions like that, trying to seem cool (at least to myself). That said, I found that actually learning about this stuff was more interesting than trying to be like a hacker in the movies or some bullshit. However many years of maturity, education, and experience later I ended up a software professional working with security. So idk about *never*, but yeah they shouldn't consider doing anything (esp illegal :O) any time soon probably.

That's an interesting take, thank you Martinatchet!

Grew up in those IRC days

/u/martinatchet · 2 votes · 1 week ago · Link

Yep, though I still use IRC on occasion. For anyone else from that time, here's a little slice of nostalgia for you: http://bash.org/?top

/u/sstanl · 1 votes · 1 week ago · Link

There's "dark IRC" on torbox ;) Would be nice to see a few more ppl there! It's of course *not* for private communication, but IMHO quite nice for anon public chatting – comparable to some of the webchats around on darknet, but with a sane user interface :D (cause, a sane UI for a webchat without javascript is close to impossible...)

Might just have to pop my head in and say hello

/u/Gorgon · 1 votes · 1 week ago · Link

A couple fo years back, I recall reading about a 14yo kid who ran a Darknet market out of his bedroom.

/u/journalistincognitoz78 Sorry mom

/u/journalistincognitoz78 OP · 1 votes · 1 week ago · Link

Hah, but seriously do you agree or not? Mr. I like to put my stash in my blood stream. Haha I liked the joke man.

/u/Gostu · 1 votes · 1 week ago · Link

Of course i agree on the side of most the info here is obvious in regards to opsec however it's a cool place to hang out. i have a distaste for clearnet social sites so i come here lol.

/u/journalistincognitoz78 OP · 1 votes · 1 week ago · Link

Right! It's so much nicer here with the security, and there not being a bunch of cookies, trackers, and whatnot. I feel safer.

I have to upvote.

I will just post my 2cents, philosophically here... that it's likely the happiest a man can get is if he can find a way to stay content and enjoy everyday activities in his life, not searching out for the stars... or getting an addiction which makes him lose everything he has. Although even the latter can sometimes be a tough but important wake-up call, depending on where you live people treat faulty individuals in a more empathetic way (irony is that it's all of us).

So yea I would encourage all to find something that inspires them, even in the slightest ways... if you're depressed and feeling REALLY shitty, can you paint a picture of it? The rot, black and darkness all in to a single beautiful or grotesque picture, but something YOU made.

And again, Market-Man will say you will gain kingdoms and riches, but I encourage you, to just do you.

Dear JournalistIncognitoz78, giving the fact that you are also currently at DarkWeb anonymity, would you mind to explain me what was your main reason to place this post? Rgds. P3

/u/journalistincognitoz78 OP · 1 votes · 1 week ago · Link

Thinking about it now, I was just being arrogant. I'm sorry if I offended you or others it wasn't my intention.

/u/bigbobba · 1 votes · 1 week ago · Link

What about dealing bud in nyc streets? Seems like everyone and their sister is doing it. Their crops aren't good though. Someone is going to chime in and say it's not legal, yeah but cops walk by them all the time like it is.
