Learnt an Important lesson from the Movie; "Requiem for a Dream"

by /u/Nacho_Varga · 3 votes · 2 months ago

1. Harm Reduction is extremely important.

2. Dont consume anything too frequently, you won't know when you become an addict!

Who else watched it?

Edit: 3. No fuckin heroin ever. Most Highly addictive substance known in market. Will cost your family and personal life. (No offense to Heroin/Fenatyl users)

That and Trainspotting is probably my favorite junkie movies. Requiem for a dream has consistently kept me away from the urge of that first needle during my feeble teenage years(i was surrounded by people using brown shugga) and I'm glad i came across that movie when i did

Here's a little push for you

Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed- interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing sprit- crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing you last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked-up brats you have spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that?

I can recommend Christiane F. (1981) to those who haven't still watched it.

it is little known gem in cinematic art, very gritty and realistic, right up if not better than before mentioned Trainspotting and Requiem for a Dream.
