receiving bunk items, leaving honest reviews - vendor retaliation?

by /u/pogslammer · 7 votes · 3 weeks ago

are there many occurrences of vendors harassing buyers after the buyer leaves a negative review?

so i received something from a vendor. i took one pill later that night but, didn't notice any effects. i chalked it up to me needing to take more. i planned on doing 1.5x or 2x the dose to see if noticed anything.

before i could get a chance to do that, i see on another market where the vendor is active, that someone left a negative review for the same item. claiming they took four of said item and felt nothing.

i'm tempted to update my positive review to neutral or negative.

Yeah...this is sometimes a tough one for the reasons you both brought up (they have more info about us) plus, unfortunately this seems to be more of an issue than it was back in the days of Dream, WSM, etc. I'd hope vendors would test new batches of their product; but if you haven't already, contact them first to give a chance to fix the issue. I'm sure you have though.

Since vendors have many more concerns than buyers re: online and IRL OPSEC -- why I'm always infuriated seeing vendor threads about the majority of sellers not finalizing their orders upon receipt. Unless DDOS attacks are making shit impossble (l am trying to login for hours impossible), that's unfucking acceptable. Sorry -- tangent over on that now...

Maybe somehow the vendor is unaware this batch is bunk, so I'd base my review depending on how they respond to your comms. If they refund or resend the product as described that you actually ordered. I'd give 5 stars if they quickly refunded or quickly sent acceptable product, but briefly mention the issue and how the vendor fixed the sitch.

If they don't respnd to 2 or 3 (at most) PMs yet they've been logging on and couldn't have missed your messages, then fuck it...they deserve the shitty review. ASAP requests you contact ADMIN too. The good thing about being a buyer is that you can make a new account and just avoid that vendor....much easier than a vendor can with a seller.

That truly sucks. Best of luck and I hope shit gets sorted out. Seems like there's way more scamming recently. I was scammed twice in 2022; yet, when I was a noob (making the occassional error), vendors were super kind, would provide guidance if I needed it, highly communicative, and I had never been scammed....not even once until 2022 when I was blatantly scammed 2 times. It's super shitty and other buyers deserve to know plus vendors deserve to lose the potential business.

Good luck to you!

I understand your concern about vendor retaliation, after all, they know your name, address and at least one illicit activity. I've also been hesitant to leave a bad review, but I owe at least 4 vendors a bad review for crap products and another (Smackers) for horrible stealth.

A lot of what I ordered was bunk. Finding that good vendors are too few. Please share your experiences with good vendors and help out the community.

the one time i left a negative review the vendor lost his shit, accused me of working for other vendors/trying to scam free product/insert-excuse here, even updated his vendor profile to yell at me before realizing that wasn't a good look & dialing back the rage a few notches (still accusing me of being a shill for another vendor, just more politely). then tried to get me to take the refund i'd asked for twice & been ignored when asking for in exchange for removing my review. then after the results came back from the sample i sent out for testing proved me right, accused me of sending a fake sample (!) then claimed the results had actually vindicated him (!!) then offered to send me a free sample of his latest batch to have tested to further vindicate him. so like the whole 5 stages of grief. (note i reached out repeatedly in PM to try to correct the situation before leaving the bad review but was left with no choice as he ignored my messages for several days). so yes, it does happen. i was definitely concerned about him having my address after that freakout but i THINK once an order is finalized the seller can't see the address anymore. maybe a market admin can confirm that?

chances are however if it's an established vendor it is a lot worse for them to be known as a snitch than to receive one bad review so they are unlikely to give you trouble involving your address.

thanks for the advice everyone. i am not sure if i will reach out to this vendor or not. based on some of their other replies/general attitude, i can see them being combative/not helpful. just going to chalk it up to a loss and not use that vendor again.

If you don't want to give negative feedback on the market you can always name the vendor here and leave a review of the product. Assuming you are using a different username on the market, they wouldn't be able to identify you.

i really wanna give vendor benefit of doubt so im going to wait until this weekend and try to 2x up the dosage.

if still feeling nothing then i will drop vendor name and item
