Tracking question (US) - does

by /u/GdnSAIBWRf · 2 votes · 2 weeks ago

Ordered an oz of K from GB to US one month ago. Tracking says it hit customs about two weeks ago. Then four days later it said "In Transit to Next Facility -> Your package is moving within the USPS network and is on track to be delivered to its final destination. It is currently in transit to the next facility."

Does this necessarily mean it actually left the customs facility or can that be an automatic message that pops up if the package hasn't been scanned for a while?

It's an automated message, usually means your pack is on a truck and not moving very fast so there are not a lot of scans as it hits facilities.

Trucks pick up a lot of mail from facilities and they don't get scanned at every stop since new mail is loaded onto the truck. When it hits the sorting facility it should update via a real scan.

I had something similar happen. Basically the same thing happened. It said what yours says now. A few days later, a visit from 'the people'.

This was my only time ordering international.

I'm not saying to freak out because that is what is happening w yours but it's always a good idea to keep a clean house. I wasn't sure how long customs took since I had never experienced it before.
