Using monero.conf to download blockchain?

by /u/miika · 1 votes · 3 weeks ago

Hello,Im just trying to understand why I get the red error messages when I downloading the full blockchain using a configuration file using Qubes OS 4.1 the full node is stored in an AppVM, using Monero GUI 0.18.2.2 - Fluorine Fermi.

Configuration file

/etc/monero/monerod.conf

sync-pruned-blocks=0
prune-blockchain=0
enable-dns-blocklist=1
no-zmq=1

# Directory
DATADIR=/home/username/monero/.monero

# Log
LOGFILE=/home/username/monero/monerod.log
max-log-file-size=0 # Prevent monerod from managing the log files; we want log-rotate to take care of that

# P2P full node
p2p-bind-ip=0.0.0.0 # Bind to all interfaces (the default)
p2p-bind-port=18080 # Bind to default port

# RPC open node
rpc-bind-ip=0.0.0.0 # Bind to all interfaces
rpc-bind-port=18081 # Bind on default port
confirm-external-bind=1        # Open node (confirm)
restricted-rpc=1 # Prevent unsafe RPC calls
no-igd=1 # Disable UPnP port mapping

# Slow but reliable db writes
db-sync-mode=safe

# Emergency checkpoints set by MoneroPulse operators will be enforced to workaround potential consensus bugs
# Check https://monerodocs.org/infrastructure/monero-pulse/ for explanation and trade-offs

enforce-dns-checkpointing=1

out-peers=64 # This will enable much faster sync and tx awareness; the default 8 is suboptimal nowadays
in-peers=1024 # The default is unlimited; we prefer to put a cap on this

limit-rate-up=1048576     # 1048576 kB/s == 1GB/s; a raise from default 2048 kB/s; contribute more to p2p network
limit-rate-down=1048576   # 1048576 kB/s == 1GB/s; a raise from default 8192 kB/s; allow for faster initial sync

Log file messages

3: Got NOTIFY_RESPONSE_CHAIN_ENTRY out of the blue, dropping connection

2: sent wrong NOTIFY_RESPONSE_GET_OBJECTS: block with id=98a8..... wasn't requested, dropping connection

3: Failed to send message, dropping it

4: Failed to sent block ahead of expected height, dropping connection

Since I read this messages in the log file get a few questions: What does the error message mean? Should I use this configuration file or with additional settings? Should I configure iptable rules;If yes, whats the command to set define the rule and where? Should I download the blockchain from bootstrap because of the log messages? Should I use a standalone vm instead an appvm in qubes os? I apologies and appreciated for any answers and advice
