captchas are for ddos/spam protection
/u/Hourglass · 1 votes · 4 months ago · Link
Captchas are just hard for a good DDoS protection.
Websites look like that because they are programmed without using any javascript.
I see you're new into this, check /d/dnmbible for all the info you'll need

/u/realcanadianpotstore · 1 votes · 4 months ago · Link

/u/codedblinks · 1 votes · 4 months ago · Link
Its for ddos and spam protection. The harder they are, the harder it is for this great site to get ddos'd.

usually the ones to get into the website are all good, it's the ones on dread to comment that mess with my head, sometimes they are literally just gray blobs where you just have to guess.

Using i2p instead of Tor allows you to skip most of the shitty captchas (not all though).

Pretty sure we are bots mate, we just dont know it as we are self aware. I struggle with them sometimes too!

Bruh same it's why I don't post on forums as much
/u/5CPjcwn3iwKV6S · 1 votes · 3 months ago · Link
It really is ridiculous. A human should _never_ fail a CAPTCHA unless they are intentionally trying to. It should be as painless as possible for humans, and as complicated as possible for robots.
I understand there are limitations due to the absence of javascript but you'd think there would be an alternative by now.

Yes, these on dread are also so shitty. I took 10 minutes to understand these.
